Keseimbangan Antara Hobby, Kuliah dan Organisasi

Daniel Chandra, pria 20 tahun yang lahir di Jakarta ini adalah salah satu mahasiswa yang berhasil membagi waktu antara hobby, kuliah dan organisasi yang diikutinya. Mahasiswa Fakultas Mesin jurusan otomotif Univeristas Kristen Petra Surabaya ini adalah salah satu mahasiswa yang cukup aktif dalam organisasi kampus. Awal dari keaktifannya dalam organisasi kampus dikarenakan keinginannya melatih soft skill dan menjalin relasi dengan banyak orang. Apalagi ketika SMP dan SMA dia tidak pernah ikut dalam organisasi atau pun kepanitiaan di sekolah.

Daniel memulai keaktifannya dalam organsisasi kampus melalui kepanitian pertama yang diikutinya di jurusannya. Setelah itu dia sempat menjadi bagian dari Himpunan Mahasiswa Mesin Petra (HIMAMESRA) pada tahun awal perkuliahannya. Dalam HIMAMESRA, Daniel ditempatkan dalam bidang informasi komunikasi bagian buletin. Satu periode berada dalam HIMAMESRA, Daniel mulai melirik Badan Eksekutif Mahasiswa (BEM) periode 2011-2012, dan dalam kesempatan ini dia ditempatkan pada public relations yang menangani departemen olahraga dan pengabdian masyarakat. Menurut pria yang sudah berhasil mengantongi SKKK sebanyak 140 ini, kesulitan yang dirasakan ketika aktif dalam organisasi kampus adalah ketika bertemu dengan orang-orang yang sulit diajak bekerja sama.

Pria yang lahir pada 06 April ini juga bekerja sebagai freelancer photographer sudah ditekuninya secara serius sejak tahun 2010 lalu. Hobby yang kini telah mampu menghasilkan uang ini berawal dari sang ayah yang juga menyukai bidang photography. Ketika menanyakan apa saja suka duka dalam menekuin hobby-nya, anak pertama dari dua bersaudara ini mengaku sangat menikmati hanya saja cukup membutuhkan kesabaran ketika bertemu client yang sedikit rewel mengenai harga.

Ketika ditanya bagaimana membagi waktu antara ketiga bidang yang ditekuninya bersama-sama, pria yang mempunyai motto hidup nothing impossible ini menjawab dengan santai “Selama ini sih semua berjalan seimbang ya, kuliah saya lancar, organisasi pun berjalan dengan baik dan hobby yang saya tekuni cukup bisa menjadi pekerjaan untuk saya. Untungnya juga orang tua selalu mendukung, saya pun selalu mengosongkan hari minggu untuk menjadi hari saya dengan Tuhan dan keluarga”.

Untuk kedepannya walau pun hobby-nya saat ini cukup menjanjikan, Daniel tetap pada cita-cita awalnya yaitu membuka bengkel di luar pulau Jawa. Karena menurut pria yang juga aktif dalam pelayanan gereja bidang multimedia ini, membuka bengkel tetap lebih berprospek untuk masa depannya apalgi dengan pengalaman yang didapatnya ketika magang selama setahun disebuah bengkel milik perusahaan mobil internasional ketika SMA dulu.
